We got this plant as a gift in 2006. The colorful stalk died shortly after and it sat like this for about 3 years. This picture was taken in March of 2009. It never died but it seemed like it never grew.
This picture was taken in Jan 2010. This Bromeliad blew up after we started watering it in the center of the plant. We noticed it slowly spreading out and the "opening" of the long green leaves.
This is a closeup of the larger flower stalk. Can't be sure if it will go full yellow or red.
This is the second flower stalk that has just started to form.
Don't know exactly what to expect from this Bromeliad but it should be interesting.
